Chunara, Aly J. - The Orthopaedic Therapy Clinic
Aly graduated from the University of Toronto's four-year program in 1998. He has also completed a degree in Neuroscience and Psychology. Aly's post-graduate training has focused on manual therapy and acupuncture courses in the treatment of acute and chronic conditions of the spine and extremities. His areas of interest include sports rehabilitation, repetitive strain injuries, and Occupational Health.
Since 1999, Aly has been a Clinical Instructor for the University of Toronto’s Physical Therapy Program, and has shared his knowledge and experience with graduate students on how to effectively and efficiently deliver client care.
He is currently a spokesperson for the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA), representing them at annual functions in Toronto, including the Women’s Health Forum and Canada Blooms. He has also shared his expertise in the treatment and prevention of various conditions on CTV’s Canada AM, The Weather Network, and on Rogers Television’s show ‘Medical Intelligence’.
Aly is one of the principle assessors in the newly developed Fit for Sport Programme. He has a particular interest in tennis and the general prevention of injuries through sound biomechanical analysis. Link to fit for sport article
In addition, he performs Ergonomic Assessments at the workplace and is also available for home physiotherapy visits.
