Pereira - First Line, Angela - First Line
A graduate of the kinesiology program at the University of Waterloo in 1995, Angela has specialized in clinical assessment and the prescription of therapeutic exercise. Angela is one of the few non-physiotherapy graduates of the Movement Impairment Syndromes course series at University of Washington in St. Louis, the number one ranked physiotherapy school in the United States. In 2001 Angela was named by the Institute for Work and Health as an Educational Influential in the field of kinesiology. Angela has been a member of the Ontario Kinesiology Association’s Board of Directors for the past 10 years and is currently completing her two year term as President of the Association.
Angela’s clients are typically referred to her by physiotherapists, physicians and surgeons. These referrals are clients with chronic recurrent pain syndromes that significantly affect their everyday function. Attention to lifestyle movement patterns and consistent low level strengthening exercises prepares Angela’s clients to progress to other kinesiologists within the First Line team for more general exercise programs.
When temporarily distracted from growing the First Line team, Angela enjoys spending time with her five siblings and their growing families. She particularly loves to study the developing movement patterns of her two energetic nephews Connell and Brayden Brown.
