Courage Canada – Hockey for the Blind Inc.
It's just a note to make you aware that a very special young, sightless hockey player named Mark Demontis is on a rollerblading mission, and will be in your community of Langley on Sept.10th, Richmond on Sept.11th & Vancouver on Sept.12th.
Mark set off on his incredible journey Sat. June 27, 2009 from his hometown of Weston, Ont., and Weston Lions Arena, cheered on by family, friends and supporters like the legendary Herbert Carnegie and rising star, PK Subban. Plus, well wishers like hockey greats Johnny Bower, Ron Ellis, Frank Mahovlich, Doug Gilmour and Walter Gretzky too. It was a touching & moving send-off for this 22yr old athlete who lost his sight at 17yrs of age. We wish him well.
We hope that you'll be able to welcome him & his team, and cheer him on toward his goal of reaching Vancouver by mid-September, all in hope of raising awareness for sightless athletes.
Their next stop after Langley, Richmond & Vancouver will be... home to Weston, Ont.
Please check the link below, where Mark's daily blog & progress can be monitored.
We're friends of Mark's and hope to support him with this awareness builder, and would appreciate your support too, as he skates westward.
Thanks for considering, and have a great summer.
Sincerely,
Peter Tokar & family
Weston, Ont.
