Sneath, Gareth - The Orthopaedic Therapy Clinic
Gareth graduated with merit from the Salford School of Physiotherapy in 1981. He went on to work in teaching hospitals within the UK National Health Service, focusing his practice in orthopaedics and completing the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Peripheral Joint Manipulation course in 1984 and the Advanced Spinal course in 1987.
To further his education and expertise in 1989 Gareth went to Perth, Australia where he received advanced certification in manual therapy completing his Graduate Diploma in Manipulative Therapy at Curtin University of Technology. He was awarded the Brian Edwards prize for highest clinical competence in the programme. His certification is internationally recognized by the International Federation of Manual Therapists (IFOMT).
He has continued to educate students teaching anatomy at the School of Rehabilitation, University of Toronto from 1992-1995 and is a non-tenured faculty member. He has served on a variety of professional committee’s including 5 years with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. He is the Chairman of the Toronto Committee of the Physiotherapy Alliance and is partially responsible for setting the written portion of the National Examination in Physiotherapy.
Since 1990 Gareth has provided physiotherapy in both the private and public sectors in Canada. His specific clinical interests are in the spine, sports physiotherapy, the knee and lower limb joint replacements. As well, Gareth has extensive experience in neurodynamics – a technique to mobilize nerve related restrictions.
