Courses & Schedule Become BCRPA Registered Personal Trainer and Weight Trainer during the 17 week Diploma program.

Hilltop Academy teaches a comprehensive 340 hour course designed to provide students with the knowledge in areas such as anatomy, physiology, nutrition, personal training, group fitness, weight training and much more. Our program exceeds BCRPA minimum requirements by providing students with 3 times the amount of classroom and practical hours. Upon successful graduation students will become BCRPA registered personal trainers and weight trainers.

Upon completion of the course students will write the BCRPA Fitness Theory Examination. Occupational First Aid Level 1 - 8 hours Weight Training - 60 hours Course Objective:The Weight Training Course is designed to introduce prospective fitness instructors to the principles and practice of weight-training. Upon completion of the course students will complete the BCRPA Instructor Competency Evaluation (ICE). Advanced Weight Training - 40 hours Course Objective:The Advanced Weight Training Course is designed to build upon the concepts learned in the weight-training course. Exercise safety, systems of weight-training, and program design for bodybuilding, power lifting, and special health concerns will be discussed. Upon completion of the course students will have a better understanding of weight-training program implementation as part of a comprehensive fitness program. Special Topics - 40 hoursCourse Objective:The objectives of the special topics courses are to add more program design tools to your expanding toolbox of exercise ideas. Topics covered will be posture assessment, flexibility assessment, band and pulley conditioning, stability ball and BOSU training, special population considerations, and sports nutrition. Personal Training - 100 hoursCourse Objective:The Personal Training Course is designed to train prospective students in the principles and practice of personal training. Upon completion of the course students will write the BCRPA Personal Training Examination and complete BCRPA Instructor Competency Evaluation (ICE) exam. Group Personal Training - 20 hours Course Objective: This course teaches the student the skills necessary in order to design and implement programs for partner training, small groups (3-4) as well as large classes such as boot camp and circuit style formats. The emphases of the course focuses on lesson planning, sequencing of exercises and enhancing motivation.
