Lalitha has always had a keen interest in nutrition from an early age. Her enthusiasm for sports, especially soccer, spurred her interest in nutrition to help enhance her athletic performance. Her desire to learn how food can help prevent disease and provide individuals with a greater quality of life prompted Lalitha to become a dietitian. Lalitha received her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Sciences from the University of Alberta in 2004 and completed her internship within the David Thompson Health Region and Royal Alexander Hospital the following year. Lalitha counsels in a wide variety of areas, ranging from specific chronic diseases to weight management. Seeing how food has significantly impacted the lives of her patients and her own life, has inspired Lalitha to empower individuals with making healthier lifestyle choices sooner rather than later. Lalitha is an extensive traveler and has spent the last year volunteering with her husband in Peru and South Africa. She is a proud new mom to a baby girl, who likes to keep Lalitha busy with making nutritious baby food.
