Marta Hernandez BFA, founder of The Space (since 2000) was selected by the Physicalmind Institute in 2004 to be a Certified Pilates Teacher Training Studio.  Since then Marta has trained teachers in Vancouver, Victoria, Washington State, Calgary, Yukon & Saskatchewan.

She has been involved in dance since a young age giving her a natural ability to work with the body through movement. She comes highly trained receiving her BFA in dance from York University in Toronto in 1994.  In 1999 she completed her pilates certification through the Physicalmind Institute in New York and became a certified GYROTONIC® teacher in the fall of 2004 followed by a certified GYOKENISES® teacher in March 2008 through Julio Horvath, inventor.   She continues to work towards level 2 GYROTONIC®. 

Marta has spent the last decade working with clients of all ages, levels & abilities, giving teachers & teacher trainers an approach to pilates which is truly authentic.
