Monique’s career journey began as a police officer.
During her 11 years with the Edmonton Police Service, Monique found an appreciation with the ancient traditions in Martial Arts.
While developing in the skills of Karate, Muay Thai Kickboxing, and Defensive Tactics; Monique’s appreciation of the ancient traditions eventually led Monique to the teachings of Yoga.
Over the years, Monique’s appreciation for Yoga has expanded to include the teachings of Yin Yoga, Bikram (Hot) Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Therapeutic Yoga, and Vinyasa Yoga. Monique also specializes in Yoga for Scoliosis (Healing Back Pain).
As a certified Yoga instructor, Monique’s teachings involve both class and private session instruction. Having taught over 230 classes and more than 100 private sessions; Monique dedicates herself to her passion for teaching and bringing wellness to the mind, body and spirit of others.
Along with a dedicated practice and passion for teaching; Monique is committed to an ongoing study of anatomy and physiology in relationship with Yoga, therapeutic applications of Yoga and injury prevention with Yoga techniques.
