The founder of The Runners Shop, David Ellis, enjoyed a career as an international calibre runner, competing for both Great Britain and Canada in Commonwealth and Olympic Games. This passion and commitment lead to the opening of The Runners Shop.
From 1975 to 1997, David and his staff developed a reputation among runners and walkers looking for specialized shoes and product knowledge. When David Ellis retired in 1997 Elaine McCrea purchased The Runners Shop. Elaine combines her background in competitive running, kinesiology and specialty retailing to preserve the philosophy of The Runners Shop.
